Symphony No. 4
Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra
Recording: 14/16 December 1941
This moving recording is brought to you thanks to the authorization of the Wilhelm Furtwängler Center of Japan and its President Masayuki Nakamura. This version is, unfortunately, truncated. The WFCJ has intelligently overcome this problem. The missing parts have been replaced by the recordings from 1951.
The digital package contains:
– High-definition (24/96) audio files [wav]
– Two accompanying texts by Philippe Jacquard (Copyright website https://concertsarchiveshd.fr/) and Henning Smidth and appendices. [pdf]
The SWF would like to thank Philippe Jacquard and Henning Smidth, authors of the texts presented, who have given permission to publish them in addition to Anton Bruckner’s Fourth Symphony.
