Concert of January 22, 1941 – Rome

The study Furtwängler in Italy of Angelo Scottini about the BPO's concerts in Rome in January 1941 is extensive. Please consult it. Very classical program: not much to say.

More curious: please have a look at the biographies of the conductor and the orchestra on page 4 of the pdf. They mention the names Bodanzky and Mahler... Not sure the German officials touring with the orchestra or attending the concert appreciated this!

Finally, if you are thinking of redecorating your living room, you might be inspired by the wallpaper sample at the front of the booklet, but don't look for the supplier, Braendli of Rome: they've gone missing.
